Step 1-Clean the subsurface
Before laying the panels, the subfloor of the skating rink area should be cleaned with a broom and all debris should be removed. Synthetic ice panels are connected side by side, or the short sides are connected to the long sides. If the skating rink is custom cut, please follow the chart attached to the panel.
Step 2-Layout and connect the synthetic ice board
Align the synthetic ice plate according to the dovetail pattern used for connection.
The panel can be pressed down with a heavy-duty (dead hammer) rubber hammer or any other heavy-duty tamping device. The synthetic ice board is tightly manufactured and can be seamlessly connected. Forced connection is expected, and tiny ice chips may be generated during installation. Tap the dovetail down until all the panels are aligned. If any lip of the adjacent panel protrudes, remove all debris from underneath the panel. You can use light sand or 1/4 inch foam board to smooth the seams.
Step 3-Cut to fit
If the synthetic ice is installed in the surrounding plate system or the skating rink area with a strange shape, a custom cut is required. This is most common at the end of a skating rink with horns. It is recommended to use a standard circular saw (24 inch tooth blade) to cut the panel.
